we had a 9 hour road trip from Charleston, South Carolina to Estero, Florida to play the Everblades. After a gruelling game against one of the top and toughest teams in the league we had to drive our run down old bus back up to Charleston after the game ended around 10pm. Well about 2 hours into our roadtrip our bus caught a flat tire and we had to spend 6 hours on the side of the road waiting for assistance to come to us and when we did finally get help it took another 4 hours for them to figure out how to replace the wheel safely. The boys on the team tried to kill the time by walking along the highway or playing cards but after a long, hard hockey game everyone eventually gave up on trying to kill the time. We were too tired and we just wanted to get home so we eventually sat in silence in the dark bus, staring at the back of our eyelids trying, but failing, to sleep. The sun was well up by the time we were ready to head back home. We arrived at our arena at around 6pm.
