American Hockey League training camp starts a few days right after the NHLs first cuts. Everything from the hotels to the food to the equipment to the staff are all down graded here from the NHL. You go from a billion dollar NHL team to a million dollar AHL team so there’s obviously going to be a discrepancy in how you are treated but its still amazing compared to the ECHL.

Also per diem gets cut down to $70.00 USD per day

On the upside there is no more fitness testing as we have already completed that stage at NHL camp. For the next week it will just be practices/working out/systems and playing exhibition games.

If things go good and you make the team then you will receive a letter from the team to get an apartment, congratulations! You have made the team!

If you did not receive a letter then you will have a meeting with management and you will be sent to the AHL’s affiliate team.
